How it works

All lessons are one-to-one and take place in my online classroom, using powerful online-only learning tools, such as screen sharing technology and the interactive whiteboard to engage and motivate my students. After the session, you will receive a feedback form detailing successes and identifying the next steps in your child’s learning.

My daughter Amelia really enjoys her time with Helen, studying for her 11+. Helen is calm, patient and her way of teaching is engaging. She ensures that within the hour a variety of learning takes place on each of the key areas for the 11+ and that Amelia has a full understanding of what is being asked of her. After the lesson Helen sets homework to imbed that learning even further. As a parent, I would definitely recommend Helen and will continue using her after the 11+ for extra tuition if needed.

Miss D is lovely and really helps when I don’t understand something. I also ask her about any homework I might be stuck on and she goes through it all so clearly.

Amelia Lowe,

I wanted Miss D's help because I needed some help with my maths and English. She was excited to help me because she is a kind, helpful and patient person. Miss D helps me to understand the question perfectly. She also helps me to think much quicker knowing that children can struggle; she stays patient and helps them in the areas needed. I highly recommend her as a primary school tutor!

Angus Silcock,
Year 6 student,
Southampton

My son genuinely looks forward to his weekly lessons. Initially, I was worried he wouldn't engage with online learning but Miss D's great teaching style keeps even the most easily distracted student engaged. I've tried other online tutors but none have her set up that is tailored for remote learning and that makes a big difference!

Rupinder,
Parent of student,
Home schooling, London

I look forward to my lessons with Miss D because she makes all my sessions fun and interactive. She always makes me laugh and that helps me concentrate and stay focused. Miss D always goes at the right pace for me but also pushes me out of my comfort zones.

Helen has been completely transformational for my son. His reading level elevated fast, he even scored 85%+! She incorporates his interests & plays games with learning. What I also love is how Helen balances kindness with challenging my son. We are so lucky to have found Helen most of all because it’s significantly improved Freddie’s confidence which is so valuable.

Helen showed she was an incredibly enthusiastic teacher and built superb relationships with all pupils and parents. Helen hit all the teaching standards to a VERY high level and always tried her hardest to make sure she got things right for the children.

Emma Stevenson,

"Miss D is 10 out of 10" my daughters words ❤️ Absolutely fantastic tutor who really cares about her students development and happiness in the sessions.

Keri White,

I went to social media to ask for recommendations on tutors to no avail. It was a family friend that worked in teaching that put me in touch with Miss D. From the moment we spoke, I knew she was right for us - full of kindness, enthusiasm and energy. Just the ticket for my son, Angus, who needed a bit of support and confidence to get through his SATs exams. He loved Miss D so much that we bought additional lessons! All our kids now want her as a tutor! Huge thanks to you Helen. You are a credit to children's education.
